I entered the counseling profession following a series of traumatic events in my own life. It was an attempt to heal myself that has lead me to the rewarding mission of helping others. Here’s some of what I learned in the process:

  • I learned that healing is a process.
  • I learned the importance of being kind to ourselves rather than beating ourselves up.
  • I learned that life doesn’t happen in a vacuum but that our lives are a series of connected experiences and energies.
  • I learned that the process of change comes with its own set of bruises.
  • I learned that as long as there is breath in our lungs there is hope.

Throughout my career I have worked with adults, children and families. My approach to working with my clients comes from a multidimensional holistic framework that is tailored to the person’s needs and concerns. As a therapist, my role is to support you in the growth-healing process.

Greetings!

As a proud graduate of Walden University, where I studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling and achieved a Master of Science Degree, I provide healing, wholistic support during life’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual transitions.

My mission is to provide individuals in my community and peer group with mental health and mindfulness techniques. I combine clinical services such as CBT and narrative therapy with spiritual perspectives such as guided meditation and astrological birth charts, supporting your personal growth and spiritual evolution.

While I find profound fulfillment in empowering women of color, trauma touches all genders and communities; We’ve all known sadness, anxiety, heartache, and loss. So, if you seek a therapist who will foster growth, provide emphatic, authentic feedback, and teaches self-soothing interventions through brief, effective, solution-focused therapy, I encourage you to reach out.

As Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story within you.” As a therapist at To the Root Counseling, I can create a safe, non-judgment space for you to share your unique story to get to The Root of your anxiety, sadness, or trauma. And together, we can reframe your narrative and rewrite your future. It is time to write the story of your life, and only you hold the pen!
